Red panda, kangaroo to join Yerevan Zoo in spring

PanARMENIAN.Net - When the new season opens on May 1, residents and guests of the Armenian capital will see a red panda and a wallaby, a smaller member of the kangaroo family, among the Yerevan Zoo animals, the director of the zoo, Ruben Khachatryan, said.

Those two will replenish the zoo stock alongside some other types of animals, Sputnik reports.

According to Khachatryan, the number of those animals in the wild has in the last 20 years decreased by 50% as a result of human activity.
