Lebanon may face another war
A bomb planted under a car bomb in central Beirut's Christian neighborhood exploded late Sunday, killing a 63-year-old woman and wounding a dozen of people, France Presse reports. The explosive device, which was placed under a car in a parking lot near an upscale shopping mall in Achrafye, destroyed dozens of cars and sent black smoke billowing over the area.
The violence between the army and the Fatah Islam group in the northern port city of Tripoli and the adjacent Nahr el-Bared refugee camp has killed at least 27 soldiers and 20 militants, security officials said Monday.
