Green Day's “Revolution Radio” on course for UK Number One album October 11, 2016 - 17:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Green Day are on course to score this week's Number One album, NME reports. 'Revolution Radio' has garnered combined chart sales of 24,000 at the midweek stage, 13,000 ahead of their nearest rivals, Alter Bridge. If the album keeps gaining momentum, it will be Green Day's third UK Number One album, following 2004's 'American Idiot' and 2009's '21st Century Breakdown'. Green Day recently launched their new LP 'Revolution Radio' with an intimate show at Rough Trade in New York - debuting new songs and treating fans to rarities and old classics. They also recently told NME that their seminal 2004 album 'American Idiot' will be made into a movie by HBO, while frontman Billie Joe Armstrong stars as the lead in 'Ordinary World' - set for release on October 14. Green Day will headline British Summer Time Festival at Hyde Park in London on Saturday July 1, 2017. A full line-up of support acts is yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Kaiser Chiefs' new album 'Stay Together' is also at Number Four. Feeder's new record 'All Bright Electric' is new at Number 7, while 'White Lies' sit right behind them with 'Friends' at 8. In the UK singles chart, James Arthur looks set to keep his place at the top of the Official Singles Chart. 'Say You Won't Let Go''s nearest rival, the former Number One 'Closer' from Chainsmokers feat. Halsey, is 12,000 sales and 125,000 streams behind, rising one place.
