French Senate makes Armenian Genocide denial a crime

PanARMENIAN.Net - The French Senate on Friday, October 14 approved a draft law criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide.

1.5 million Armenians were murdered at the hands of the Ottoman Empire between 1915 and 1923, hundreds of thousands were forced out of the country.

French MPs approved the bill 156:146.

As Nouvelle D’Armenie says, this is a great achievement and a victory for the Armenian Diaspora which has for 10 years been fighting to have the draft bill adopted.
