For the launch of their latest gaming machine, PlayStation has come out with an eighties-themed ad that is simultaneously nostalgic and an exhilarating display of the PS4 Pro's power. Like a mash-up of the dodgy graphics from Tron and Videodrome it opens with an image of a pulsating console as a voice over says: "Introducing the super-charged PlayStation 4 Pro console system! Discover the power of our super compact mega processor!" The voiceover continues: "Revolutionary cordless player paddle joysticks! And super fresh graphics that so real...They suck you right in..." At this point we get a preview of the capabilities of this console as the ad switches to IRL games before heading back to the 80s adding: "It's the ultimate immersive gaming experience...where no one gets out alive!" Described as "for the players" this time-draining toy launches this autumn. It is said to be a power upgrade with up to 1 terabyte of internal storage making it a step up from the standard PS4.
