Several killed, dozens wounded in car-bomb blast in Turkey's Diyarbakir

PanARMENIAN.Net - A blast hit the southeastern province of Diyarbakır early on Nov. 4, Dogan News Agency has reported, according to Hurriyet.

“Some people including police officer and civilians were killed,” said Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag, he was talking about the explosion in Diyarbakir.

The explosion hit an auxiliary building of the police department in the Baglar district of Diyarbakir at around 8 a.m. on Nov. 4.

The Diyarbakır Governor’s Office said in a statement on Nov. 4 that the cause of the blast was thought to be a bomb-laden vehicle.

The building was formerly used as a school for police cadets and is located around 200 meters away from Diyarbakir’s E-type prison.

Six people were wounded in the blast, state-run Anadolu Agency reported, although CNN Türk said around 30 people were wounded.

A broadcast ban on media outlets was imposed following the explosion

Many ambulances and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.
