Foo Fighters “tease European tour”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Foo Fighters have excited fans by seemingly teasing an announcement for a UK and European tour – once again sparking rumours that they may headline Glastonbury 2017, NME reports.

While Dave Grohl is said to be working on a solo album and drummer Taylor Hawkins has also announced his debut solo effort, the band look set to announce a UK and European tour after Tweeting a photo of the continent from space at night time. The map also glows red over Portugal – could they be announced for a festival such as Nos Alive?

Foo Fighters have been on a recent hiatus, taking a break last month for a special charity gig featuring members of KISS, Van Halen and Jane’s Addiction. The band have long been among the favourites to headline Glastonbury 2017 – after they were forced to pull out from their 2015 performance when Dave Grohl broke his leg after falling from stage.

Betting has also been suspended on Ed Sheeran headlining the festival – with other rumours including Kasabian, Lady Gaga, Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode.

Last month saw Glastonbury announce Radiohead as the first headliner of Glastonbury 2017, doing so 20 years since their first time topping the bill on the Pyramid Stage in 1997 – before Emily Eavis denied the rumours of Stone Roses and Daft Punk joining them at the top of the bill.

As well as telling NME that there would be a brand new area at Glastonbury 2017, Eavis also arevealed that the line-up was ‘90% booked’ and that the’d be ‘cramming in two years’ worth of music’ before the festival takes a year off in 2018.
