Gravitas picks up Billy Zane family drama “The Adventure Club”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Gravitas Ventures has acquired all U.S. and most international rights to family drama “The Adventure Club”, starring Billy Zane and Kim Coates, Variety has learned exclusively.

Double Dutch Intl. made the announcement Friday at the American Film Market, noting that it’s now completely sold out the world on “The Adventure Club.” Foreign territories not sold to Gravitas by DDI include the Middle East, acquired by Gulf Films; pan-Asia, by Fox; Poland by East West, Turkey, by Tanweer; and South Africa, by M Net.

The film is directed by visual effects producer Geoff Anderson (“Straight Outta Compton”). Producers are Trilight Entertainment’s Shayne Putzlocher, Glenn Paradis, Sara Shaak and Montague Entertainment’s Mark Montague.

“The Adventure Club” follows three 10-year old friends who discover an ancient wishbox. They plan to use the box to save their local science center from bankruptcy, but in doing so they notice some shady characters also trying to get the wishbox who will stop at nothing to obtain it.

DDI launched sales at last year’s AFM. “We are proud to fulfill our mission for ‘The Adventure Club’ and happy that it has found a great home with all of our partners,” said Jason Moring of DDI.
