Putin and Trump "see eye to eye politically" - Lavrov

Putin and Trump

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President-elect Donald Trump see eye to eye politically, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters on the sidelines of the APEC foreign ministers council meeting in Peru’s capital of Lima.

"They undoubtedly have a political disposition," the minister stressed. "They see eye to eye politically. Once Donald Trump takes the reigns as president, the challenge will be to transform this sentiment into practical steps," Lavrov added. "We are ready to do that."

When asked if relations between Moscow and Washington could be reset once again, the Russian top diplomat noted that he would "refrain from inventing new terms and putting labels on things for now."

"They had a man-to-man professional phone conversation," Lavrov said. "The two leaders discussed the current state of bilateral relations and cooperation in solving regional and global issues."
