Stand-up star Russell Peters joins “Public Schooled” comedyNovember 25, 2016 - 11:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Global stand-up star Russell Peters has joined Hawaii Five-O star Grace Park and Judy Greer (Married) in Public Schooled, a coming-of-age comedy from Canadian filmmakers Kyle Rideout and Josh Epstein, The Hollywood Reporter reveals. Peters, who had a cameo in Jon Favreau's Chef and lent his voice to Disney's The Jungle Book, also is starring in the drama Russell Peters Is the Indian Detective for Canadian video streamer CraveTV. Newcomer Daniel Doheny also is boarding Public Schooled in the lead role of Liam as the movie shoots in Vancouver through Dec. 18. Greer was previously announced to star as the mother of a socially awkward boy who has been home-schooled his whole life. When the boy falls in love with a popular one-legged girl, he abandons his mother's suffocating love and enrolls in public school, entering a world of sex, drugs and social studies. Park plays Greer’s best friend. Rideout and Epstein co-wrote the script, and Rideout is directing. Epstein is producing the indie from the Canadian Film Centre and Motion 58 with Adam Folk and executive producer Justine Whyte.
