Biffy Clyro could be working on their next album

PanARMENIAN.Net - Biffy Clyro could be working on their new album, after discussed their plans for the future. The band headlined Reading and Leeds festival this year and released their seventh studio album ‘Ellipsis’, NME reports.

Frontman Simon Neil revealed that he was in a “terrible headspace” during the early process of making the band’s 2016 album. Speaking to NME, Neil discussed his mental health and reveals that touring around the band’s last album ‘Opposites’ saw him struggling.

In a new interview with DIY, the band have discussed their plans for the future stating that they won’t be taking a break before their next album. When asked about what next year could bring, bassist James Johnston revealed “More Biffy,” which could mean the band are already working on their new album.

“We’re going to be in your face. We’re not going anywhere,” he added. “We took a break before the last album and we didn’t really like it. It didn’t really work. We’re going to keep going, keep playing shows and keep trying to push ourselves.”

The band also discussed their next album in an Eats & Beats interview with NME at the beginning of October. “As soon as we finish recording a record, it’s about looking forward and just kind of waiting for inspiration to strike I guess,” Simon Neil said at the time. “[But] we haven’t had time to write anything new yet.”

Neil added: “We’ll tour hard for the rest of this year and then we’ll hopefully get some time in the practice room and we can try out some new ideas.”

The band have already been confirmed to headline Download Festival 2017 – with System of a Down and Aerosmith also set to headline.

After headlining Reading and Leeds twice, this marks Biffy Clyro’s Download Festival headline debut – while the supergroup of Cypress Hill, Public Enemy and Rage Against The Machine will be playing their first ever UK show at the festival.
