Ex- Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher’s 1st solo fest show confirmedDecember 3, 2016 - 16:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Liam Gallagher‘s first confirmed solo festival show has been confirmed – with Bergenfest revealing that the former Oasis frontman will be performing, NME reports. Gallagher announced back in August that he is set to release a solo album via major label Warner Bros next year. His solo album has been described as sounding like The Velvet Underground. While rumours of his first solo gig in London emerged earlier this week, he’s now been confirmed via Tweet to be performing at Bergenfest in Norway. The Tweet translates to “one of England’s biggest rock stars of all time, Liam Gallagher, comes to Bergenfest 2017!”, while a statement on their website reads “2017 will see Liam touring as a solo artist and we can not wait to see what this brilliant singer has in store for us, come June.” Also confirmed are Tove Lo, Bryan Ferry and Benjamin Clementine. Bergenfest takes place from 14-17 June at Bergen in Norway. Despite his solo plans, Liam remains open to an Oasis reunion. Bookies have suspended betting on Oasis reforming in 2017, as talk of the band getting back together continues to gather momentum. Ride have reportedly been booked to support the band next year, however they later denied this. Meanwhile, Foo Fighters‘ Taylor Hawkins has spoken out in praise of Liam Gallagher – hailing him as a “fucking good rock singer” and remembering “great nights out” together.
