Guns N’ Roses sell a million tickets in one day for their European tour December 13, 2016 - 16:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Guns N’ Roses sold a million tickets in one day for their forthcoming 2017 European tour, according to NME. General sales for their ‘Not In This Lifetime’ opened on Friday morning (December 9) after Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan confirmed their first appearances in Europe since their reunion earlier this year. Demand was so high for tickets on Friday according to Live Nation, that an extra date was added at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in June next year. The veteran rock band announced the reunion of their classic line-up earlier this year and have already played a host of dates across North America together since. They also announced dates across Europe, Japan, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and Dubai for next year. In September it was reported that the band’s reunion tour has already grossed £90million, making it the highest-grossing of the year to date in North America. Their run of stadium shows were attended by over a million fans in the US and Canada. The reformed band features founder Axl Rose and former members Slash and Duff McKagan. Original guitarist Izzy Stradlin has not participated in the reunion. The tour is named after Rose’s reaction to the idea of the band reforming in an interview in 2012. The band recently smashed up a Donald Trump piñata on stage during their gig in Mexico City. “Express yourself however you feel,” Axl Rose told the crowd as the band took bats to the Trump effigy. Guns N’Roses also recently launched their own online slot machine. Created in collaboration with digital entertainment company Net Ent, the game features classic GNR hit such as ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ and ‘Paradise City’. It also features clips of the band in action, icons based on band members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan, and official GNR logos and fonts. Fans can download the app for their iPhone, iPad or Android devices, or alternatively play online on their desktop, NME said.
