Aphex Twin performs in America for the first time in 8 years

PanARMENIAN.Net - Aphex Twin performed in America for the first time in eight years on December 17, NME said.

The musician, whose real name is Richard D. James, was on the bill at Houston’s Day For Night festival alongside the likes of Björk, Travis Scott, Run The Jewels and more. His last US show was at Coachella in 2008.

In his set were tracks such as ‘Samurai’, ‘Polynomial-C’ and ‘Posers’. He performed with a big light show accompanying him.

At the festival, James also sold a new record. The artwork for it is plain white, while the only text on the label is that of the festival’s date and location, as well as AFX and Warp Records’ logos.

It has yet to be confirmed what exactly is on the release.

Meanwhile, James has been confirmed to play a rare live set at Field Day festival in London next year.

Flyers handed out at London’s Independent Label Market last month (November 26) feature the date of next year’s Field Day – June 3, 2017 – and a scratch-card panel which conceals the Aphex Twin logo.

Festival organisers went on to confirm the booking the following day by sharing a video of the flyer’s scratch-card panel being rubbed away to reveal the Aphex Twin logo.

Aphex Twin was the first act announced for next year’s Field Day, which takes place in east London’s Victoria Park on June 3.
