David Lynch returns as Gordon Cole in new

PanARMENIAN.Net - David Lynch apparently also has an on-screen role on the "Twin Peaks" revival. After releasing some promos without actual footage from the 2017 series, Showtime has finally released a new teaser which gives a first look at the continuation to the 1990 TV series, AceShowbiz said.

The 30-second teaser is still as vague as the previous promos though, featuring nothing but series co-creator David Lynch who dons a black suit, wears a hearing aid in his right ear and eats a glazed donut. Set to the cult hit's iconic theme song, the scene is a nod to FBI deputy director Gordon Cole, whom Lynch played on the original series and the 1992 movie "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me".

Based on the caption of the video, Lynch will reprise his role as Gordon Cole on the upcoming revival.

Lynch and co-creator Mark Frost write the 18-episode continuation, which is set 25 years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town were stunned when their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered. Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee and Sherilyn Fenn are among the returning stars, while Balthazar Getty, Amanda Seyfried, Laura Dern and Robert Knepper are tapped as new additions to the cast.

"Twin Peaks" revival is expected to air sometime in 2017, but a premiere date has not been announced yet.
