New “Good Fight” trailer lands online

PanARMENIAN.Net - A new official trailer for "The Good Fight" has been released during CBS' TCA winter press tour, AceShowbiz said. The video features Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) who's exasperatedly screaming as she finds out that all her retirement savings have been lost as a result of Ponzi scheme.

Diane is also joined by her goddaughter, Maia Rindell (Rose Leslie), who is connected to the financial scandal as her father is the one behind the scheme. The two then head to Chicago to work in a law firm where Luca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) works.

"You're going to hear people talk the way they speak in life," says co-creator Michelle King. "These are educated people. They're cultured. They're elegant. So you're not going to hear them sound drastically different. But they're going to use the swear words you would have expected to hear on 'The Good Wife'," she explains.

Series co-creator Robert King then reveals that the spin-off will explore the ways politics, the legal system and journalism will change under the Trump administration. "What was good was the world changed on us," he says.

King continues, "When you're a writer, you're always wondering what the spine of the show is. And I think this election gave us a spine. This gives shape to a new show. This is all gonna change. Some say for the better, some for the worse, but it's all gonna change... [The show] is not just anti-Trump, anti-Trump, anti-Trump. It's also looking at how liberals are reacting."

"The Good Fight" debuts on Sunday, February 19 at 8 P.M. EST on CBS and CBS All Access.
