Political significance of Year of Armenia in France already felt

PanARMENIAN.Net - September 12-November 30 the Armenian National Gallery will host an exhibition titled Armenia Sacra. Over 200 masterpieces of Armenian culture, including 32 khachkars will be displayed.



Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan, Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian and other officials attended the exhibition September 11. Afterwards, the state commission on coordination of the Year of Armenia in France held its last meeting.



"Some 850 events, including political, economic and cultural projects, were held in over 160 French towns in the framework of the Year of Armenia in France. Over 2.5 million people attended Armenia Sacra exhibit in Louvre," PM Serge Sargsyan said.



For his part, Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian said the Year of Armenia in France was politically important as well and the 'influence is already felt.'



Vigen Sargsyan, the RA President's adviser and coordinator of the Year of Armenia in France, said the success surpassed all expectations.



Some sponsors and organizers of the Year were handed Anania Shirakatsi medals, certificates of the RA President and medals of the Prime Minister, IA Regnum reports.
