RUSSIAN AIR FORCES COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF TO ARRIVE IN YEREVAN ON WORKING VISITOctober 14, 2002 - 20:50 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Today commander-in-chief of the air forces of Russia colonel-general Vladimir Mihkailov will arrive in Yerevan with a three-day working visit. During his visit, Mihkailov, who is the chair of the coordinating committee on the CIS air defense, and the Armenian side will discuss issues of military and technical cooperation within the framework of the CIS joint air defense system, as well as issues of strengthening of the CIS South air borders. In particular, the matter concerns the organization and further development of joint system of air defense as well as the technical cooperation in that sphere and rendering financial means according to the intergovernmental agreements signed by the SIC state leaders at the recent summit in Kishinev.Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
