PanARMENIAN.Net - AMC has released a new featurette for the upcoming second season of "Preacher". The new featurette offers some new footage of the series as well as gives an insight into the behind-the-scenes look at the production, AceShowbiz said.
The featurette opens with Saint of Killers walking down a dark alley before firing a gun. "It feels great to be back. And it's great to have Seth [Rogen] and Evan [Goldberg] back directing," Dominic Cooper (Jesse) says. The featurette offers some new behind-the-scenes footage showing how the action scenes in the upcoming season are filmed. There is also a scene in which Jesse and Tulip are caught by the cops.
Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) is seen crawling under a car, before the car eventually crushes his head and blood terrifically spurts out of his head. Jesse and Tulip later can be seen coming to rescue the Irish vampire. "Seth, Sam and Evan, they wanted to bring a bit reality to the whole journey, which could be stressful at times," Joseph shares.
In addition to the new featurette, a slew of new character posters have made their way out online. Released via Nerdist, the posters feature the five central figures, including Jesse Custer, Tulip O'Hare (Ruth Negga), Cassidy, The Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish) and Eugene "Arseface" Root (Ian Colletti). Each poster features fiery red and orange palette, indicating that things will be getting hellish for them in the upcoming sophomore season.
Following last year's explosive season 1 finale, the new season follows Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy on a road trip to find god. Meanwhile, the mysterious Saint of Killers will seemingly have a more prominent role to play after being released from hell to hunt down and kill Jesse.
The 13-episode second season will feature six additional actors, including Noah Taylor ("Game of Thrones"), Pip Torrens ("Star Wars: The Force Awakens"), Julie Ann Emery ("Fargo"), Malcolm Barrett ("Dear White People"), Ronald Guttman ("Homeland") and Justin Prentice ("13 Reasons Why").
Based on DC Vertigo comic, "Preacher" is executive produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and showrunner Sam Catlin. "Preacher" season 2 will premiere on Sunday, June 25 on AMC.
