Armenia’s RPA refutes prime minister submitted resignation letter twice

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) refuted on Tuesday, June 6 that prime minister Karen Karapetyan has twice submitted a letter of resignation and that president Serzh Sargsyan has refused to accept it both times.

According to RPA spokesman Eduard Sharmazanov, the situation in the party “is quite normal.”

“There is no such thing, Karen Karapetyan has been unanimously approved as the prime minister, the government is formed, and the program will be discussed at the National Assembly soon,” Sharmazanov was quoted as saying by Aysor.am.

“No elections will be held in 2018, the entire political spectrum has been formed in 2017.”

Armenians took to the polls on April 2 as the country started the process of transitioning from a presidential system of government to a parliamentary one.
