"Turkey carries on with its negotiation process towards full membership. This process is irreversible by its nature," MFA said in a written statement. "The basic point that lies under our discontent is a member country's attempt to harm our political and legal position regarding our membership process." France cannot halt Turkey's bid to join the European Union, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today, despite Paris's success in having the word "accession" deleted from a statement on Turkey's EU talks. "Our determination to join the European Union as a full member has undergone no changes," Erdogan said.
