Emma Stone tops Forbes' list of 2017 biggest-earning actresses

PanARMENIAN.Net - Emma Stone unseats Jennifer Lawrence from the top spot of Forbes' list of 2017 biggest-earning actresses. The "La La Land" star, who was ranked No. 16 in 2015 and didn't even make the list in 2016, made a huge jump to the highest position. The 26-year-old beauty has pocketed an estimated $26 million, AceShowbiz reports.

In a recent interview with Out magazine, Stone revealed that her male-co-stars took paycuts so she could get equal salary. "In my career so far, I've needed my male co-stars to take a pay cut so that I may have parity with them," the Oscar winner said. "And that's something they do for me because they feel it's what's right and fair, so that's something that's also not discussed, necessarily - that our getting equal pay is going to require people to selflessly say, 'That's what's fair.' "

Jennifer Aniston sits at the runner-up place this year. The 48-year-old star has collected an estimated $25.5 million between June 2016 and June 2017. Her income comes from endorsement deals with brands such as SmartWater and Emirates Airlines. She also still profits from her old TV show "Friends".

Lawrence settles at the third position this year. While Aniston rose two spots from No. 4 last year with $21 million, the "Passengers (2016)" actress fell a couple of spots after taking the reign for two years in a row. She scored an estimated $24 million, nearly half of her 2016 earnings of $46 million.

The rest of the top ten is occupied by the likes of Melissa McCarthy, Mila Kunis, Emma Watson, Charlize Theron, Cate Blanchett, Julia Roberts and Amy Adams.

According to Forbes, the cumulative total earned by the world's top-ten highest-paid actresses is $172.5 million, down 16 percent from 2016. The biggest-earning actors in Hollywood will be revealed later this year.
