Tesla cuts price of Model S and Model X by $3,500 to $5,000

PanARMENIAN.Net - Tesla has updated its online design studio to drop the price of the higher-end trims of Model S and Model X by $3,500 and $5,000, Electrek reports.

The automaker says that the price change is a way to reflect improvements in cost efficiency for the 100 kWh battery pack that is powering Tesla’s top-of-the-line vehicles.

The change affecting the pricing of Model S and Model X is as follows:

Model S 100D: $97,500 -> $94,000

Model S P100D: $140,000 -> $135,000

Model X 100D: $99,500 -> $96,000

Model X P100D: $145,000 -> $140,000

A Tesla spokesperson said about the most recent price changes:

“Tesla is passing cost efficiency improvements of approximately 3% in 100 kWH pack production through to customers.”

The company plans to change the price of the current undelivered custom orders for those vehicles.
