New NPP construction to kick off in 2010

PanARMENIAN.Net - Construction of the first nuclear reactor of the new Armenian Nuclear Power Plant will start in late 2010, RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan said in his address to the ANPP employees.



"One of the major European structures is ready to finance the construction of a new nuclear reactor. We will sign an agreement in September," PM Sargsyan said.



"Energy security is one of Armenia's priorities. Rise in prices for gas and oil demands development of nuclear energy," he added, Interfax reports.
