Engineering equipment is perfect on Karabakh frontlines: Colonel

PanARMENIAN.Net - The ratio of the engineering equipment on the Nagorno Karabakh contact line during the April War in 2016 and now can be described as 30% to 100%, colonel Viktor Arustamyan from Karabakh Defense Army said.

"The engineering equipment is currently brought to a perfect condition, certain work is underway to improve the defense line even more," Arustamyan said.

According to him, the Armenian side has made serious progress in terms of upgrading its military arsenal.

Weighing in on the current situation on the contact line, the colonel said the Azerbaijani side has involved snipers on the contact line, which results in losses on the Armenian side.

Azerbaijan on April 2, 2016 launched a large-scale military offensive against Karabakh which left hundreds dead on both sides. Top Armenian and Azerbaijani defense officials reached an agreement on the cessation of hostilities on April 5. According to Artsakh army's latest statement, the situation has remained relativele calm in the past weeks.
