Artur Baghdassaryan's staff going to appeal election results
The headquarters of Orinats Yerkir leader, presidential candidate Artur Baghdassaryan has issued a statement on the outcomes of the February 19 presidential election.
The statement says, in part, "The presidential election is of extreme importance for Armenia and democracy development. Unfortunately, numerous violations were fixed during the February 19 presidential election, which was accompanied by threats, blackmail and beating of election commissions' members and empowered persons. Throwing in of ballot papers, bribe giving and rejection of complaint registration question legality and fairness of the elections. We announce intention to appeal the election results and urge to recognize invalid the outcomes from over 100 polling stations what will affect the final results of the election.
"We call on the Armenian authorities not to impede the revision of votes. We state that attempts to violate the RA Constitution and distort the real state of affairs are pregnant with public opposition."
