Armenia helps maintain security in the world, Yerevan tells NATODecember 18, 2017 - 17:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Although Armenia faces serious security challenges, it still contributes to the maintenance of security and stability in other parts of the world, foreign minister Edward Nalbandian told NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller on Monday, December 18. Armenia thus has turned into an exporter of security, the foreign minister said. At a meeting in Yerevan, Nalbandian briefed the NATO official on the recent developments surrounding the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The sides reaffirmed their support for the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group which is mandated to find a peaceful and lasting settlement of the issue. Also, they agreed that the cooperation between Armenia and NATO is successful, with the country participating in several of the bloc's peacekeeping missions throughout the world. Earlier, Gottemoeller said NATO is hoping to see a new impetus in the process of the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict as the resolution of the issue will benefit the entire region.
