Deputy immunity can't justify illegal deeds

PanARMENIAN.Net - "All Armenian citizens - either an ordinary man or member of parliament - are equal before the law," RA general staff chief, colonel general Seyran Ohanyan told a news conference in Yerevan, when commenting on detainment of RA NA member Myasnik Malkhasyan.

"Deputy immunity can't justify illegal deeds," he said.

As to deputies to the RA Defense Minister, lieutenant general Manvel Grigoryan and lieutenant general Gagik Melkonyan, the general staff chief said, "Manvel Grigoryan is on leave. Gagik Melkonyan is in hospital. Tomorrow they will proceed to their duties."

Lieutenant general Manvel Grigoryan is the chairman of Yerkrapah volunteer union, whose several members joined ex-President Levon Ter-Petrosyan.

Parliament member Myasnik Malkhasyan was detained over suspicion in coup d'etat attempt.
