RF MFA: Baku's approach jeopardized further Armenian-Azeri talks

PanARMENIAN.Net - "On March the UN General Assembly with 39 votes in favor, 7 against and 100 abstentions passed an Azerbaijan-initiated resolution "On the situation on occupied territories of Azerbaijan." The OSCE Minsk Group Co-chair states, including Russia, U.S. and France voted against the draft describing it as one-sided, inappropriate and counterproductive," says a statement issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.



"The resolution includes some of the basic principles, which meet only the interests of Azerbaijan. For example, it fails to mention determination of Nagorno Karabakh's final status via free expression of the popular will…



"This approach made the draft inadmissible for the Armenian side and jeopardized further Armenian-Azeri talks…



"For their part, Russia jointly with the United States and France is ready to mediate in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group for stability and peace in the region," the statement says.
