"SURB GRIGOROS" ARMENIAN CHURCH RESTORED IN DAGESTAN

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Surb Grigoros" church is restored in Nyugdi Dagestani town. As reported by Russian mass media, this monument of the Armenian culture of the beginning of the 19-th century is reconstructed on the initiative of the local Armenian community by means of the funds of the town community. The church was built at the place of the death of bishop Grigoros - the grandson of Grigor Illuminator, who had preached Christianity there on the invitation of the local nobility in the 4-th century.
