RA President presented Armenia's position of Abkhazia and South Ossetia
Armenian President Serzh Sarsgyan presented yesterday Armenia's stance on Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the RA leader's press office reported.

"The reason for not recognizing Abkhazia and South Ossetia is the same that was in case with Kosovo. Armenia can't recognize independence of these regions due to Nagorno Karabakh problem," the President said. "The purpose of our talks with Azerbaijan is to convince Baku that recognition of Karabakh people's right to self-determination is inevitable. But time is needed for it."

"I expect deeper engagement of the entire Armenian diplomatic corps in resolution of the Karabakh conflict. We should bring to the notion of the international community that Nagorno Karabakh's claim to independence is legal and that the war imposed by Azerbaijan was the result of ethnic cleansings that failed thanks to courage of the Armenian people," President Sargsyan said.
