Cooperative Longbow/Lancer - 2008 NATO exercise kicks off in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Stability and peace are of special value for Armenia, Armenian Defense Minister said, opening Cooperative Longbow/Lancer - 2008 today.



"We eye Cooperative Longbow/Lancer - 2008 as a means to strengthen trust throughout the region. It's a pleasure for Armenia to conduct international exercise in its territory on the proper level," Seyran Ohanyan said.



"We conduct this exercise to master our peacekeeping skills," he added.



For his part Deputy Commander of the Allied Land Component Command Headquarters Heidelberg, Lieutenant General Jack Gardner thanked the Armenian side for proper organization and called on participants to derive experience from the maneuvers.
