RA MFA: Armenia stepped closer to European structures in 2008January 22, 2009 - 14:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has proceeded with the policy of integration into European structures in 2008, says the annual report issued by the RA Foreign Ministry. The Eastern Partnership initiative offered by the European Commission in December 2008 promises to bring the Armenia-EU relations up to a new level. The visits of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan to Paris and Brussels also facilitated relations between Armenia and the European Union. Armenia and the EU signed an agreement on dispatch of an EU expert group to Armenia to assist the reform process. Cooperation with the Council of Europe was also continued, the report says.
