Eastern Partnership one of EU Czech presidency priorities
The Eastern Partnership will be one of priorities of the Czech presidency in the European Union, the Polish Ambassador to Armenia said.
Ambassador Tomasz Knothe reminded that the Polish Embassy will represent the Czech Republic in the tenure of its presidency in the EU.
"The increasing importance of cooperation with the Eastern European region and the development of relations with countries in the Caucasian region sped up the preparation of the Eastern Partnership," he said. "Poland does support the initiative, which supplements the European Neighborhood Policy and offers 6 post soviet states a possibility to join the European family.
The Ambassador informed that projects will be submitted during the Eastern Partnership Summit in Prague on May 7. "Implementation of proposals depends on the participant countries," he said.
Ambassador Knothe emphasized that the EP doesn't suppose exclusion of Russia from regional projects and shouldn't be eyed as a counterbalance to the Russian Federation. "The European Union wants stability in neighbor countries," he said.
