Armenia introduces four-month quarantine until January 11

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian government on Friday, September 11 approved a proposal to introduce a 4-month quarantine until January 11.

The state of emergency declared in the country in mid-March is ending on September 11. The National Assembly approved the new measure in its second reading a week earlier.

According to the document approved on Friday, the situation throughout the world remains tense, with the novel coronavirus spreading in Armenia too.

The decision is based on warning issued by the World Health Organization about a possible second wave of the pandemic, and seeks to arrange the protections of people's health, the government added.

During the four-month quarantine, public events with no more than 60 people will be allowed.

The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Armenia grew by 177 to reach 45,503 on Friday morning. So far, 41,434 people have recovered, 909 have died from the coronavirus in the country, while 280 others carrying the virus have died from other causes.
