About 20 people have been arrested on suspicion of violence in public places, destruction of property, and a number of other crimes they committed after storming the government building and the National Assembly in Yerevan, the National Security Service reports.

After the agreement to end the war in Nagorno-Karabakh was announced on Monday, November 9 night, a group of protesters forced their way into the main government building and the parliament in Yerevan.

The crowd also attacked and beat Ararat Mirzoyan, the president of the National Assembly, who had to undergo a surgery shortly afterwards․

The NSS said a number of witnesses have been interrogated, the items stolen from the government house have been recovered, and measures have been taken to identify and hold the people behind the unrest accountable.
