  Armenia National Hero appointed Minister of Emergency Situations November 20, 2020 - 15:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian National Hero Andranik Piloyan has been appointed the country's new Minister of Emergency Situations, according to a decree signed by President Armen Sarkissian on Friday, November 20. The Commander of the 5th Army Corps, Major General Piloyan was honored with the country's highest titled on October 20, amid the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh. The President also dismissed Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan and named Mesrop Arakelyan in the position. Also Friday, Sarkissian appointed Vagharshak Harutyunyan in the post of the country's Defense Ministry. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
