One body returned to Armenia alongside four POWs

PanARMENIAN.Net - One body was returned to the Armenian side from Azerbaijan, alongside the four prisoners of war on Monday December 28, said Vahan Hunanyan, advisor to Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, Aysor.am reports.

The process was mediated by the Russian side and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Hunanyan did not specify whether the body was of a civilian or a serviceman and provided no further details.

Avinyan said on Monday that the prisoners are now under the supervision of doctors and will receive the necessary medical, and moral and psychological assistance. The process of prisoner swap will continue, he added. The first batch of 44 Armenian captives landed in Yerevan on December 14, in what authorities described as the first day of POW exchange. At least 60 people are still being held by Azerbaijan, according to various sources.
