Russian sappers discover 400 explosive objects in Martuni

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Russian peacekeepers deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh have cleared some 400 explosive objects near the village of Karmir Shuka (Red Market) in Martuni region, the Russian authorities said.

122-mm fragmentation artillery shells and cumulative tank ammunition have also been discovered, the Russian Defense Ministry reports.

Since November 23, the peacekeeping forces have cleared 1419 hectares of terrain, 443 kilometers of roads, and 1361 buildings, the Defense Ministry added.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side has returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
