Pashinyan dismisses Chief of Army General StaffFebruary 25, 2021 - 12:57 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced the dismissal of the Chief of Army General Staff, Colonel General Onik Gasparyan, les than an hour after the General Staff demanded Pashinyan's resignation. Pashinyan described the General Staff's demand for his resignation as "a military coup attempt" and called on his supporters to gather in downtown Yerevan on Thursday, February 25. According to him, the decision to dismiss the Chief of Staff was made before the publication of the demand for his resignation. The President has yet to sign the decree.
