Opposition warns against bloodshed amid Armenia political unrestFebruary 25, 2021 - 14:23 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Opposition Bright Armenia and Prosperous Armenia parties have reacted to the Army General Staff's demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his government, reiterating their demand for the same. Bright Armenia issued a statement Thursday, February 25, maintaining that the crisis in the country can't be resolved without the resignation of the Prime Minister. The processes, the party added, must remain within the constitution, and a peaceful change of power must take place. Prosperous Armenia, meanwhile, hailed the General Staff's statement as evidence of the army's readiness to stand by the people and the state. "We urge Nikol Pashinyan against taking the country to a civil war, shedding the Armenians' blood inside the country, turning Armenians against each other, because our real enemy is beyond the border," the party said. "Nikol Pashinyan has the last chance to make a political transition, in order to avoid further risking our already war-torn state."
