Remains of two Karabakh soldiers discovered in Martakert

PanARMENIAN.Net - The remains of two Nagorno-Karabakh victims, most probably of servicemen, were recovered from a military post near the town of Martakert and transferred to the authorities on Thursday, March 4. The Karabakh State Emergency Service said the body of a soldier was discovered in the same place two days earlier.

The area came under heavy shelling and bombardment by the Azerbaijani armed forces during the recent 44-day war in Karabakh.

The Armenian rescue teams will continue the search for the bodies and remains of the victims in Hadrut and Varanda.

Since November 13, the rescue teams have found the bodies and remains of 1488 people, including dozens of civilians, who had failed to leave their homes when their settlements went under Azerbaijan's control. Family members and parents of missing soldiers were participating in the process too.

Baku had indefinitely suspended the mission in the last two weeks of February in territories under its control, offering no particular explanation for the decision.
