EAEU approves Armenia's proposal to strip Turkey of tariff preferences

PanARMENIAN.Net - Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan took part in the meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission on Friday, March 5 online, the website of the Armenian government reports.

According to a press release, the agenda included the issue of excluding 75 developing countries, including Turkey, from the EAEU list of a unified system of tariff preferences, proposed by the Armenian side. The proposal was adopted unanimously, and the corresponding decision is expected to enter into force 6 months after its publication.

The EAEU, an international organization for regional economic integration, includes Armenia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan.
