Russian peacekeepers help restore, reopen Martakert hospital, schools

PanARMENIAN.Net - A hospital has resumed medical services, while schools have restored educational processes in the city of Martakert, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) thanks to the assistance of Russian peacekeepers, the Ministry of Defense of Russia said in a statement on Tuesday, March 9.

The sappers of the Humanitarian Response Center of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Artsakh continue working in the area to discover and dispose of explosives in private houses and infrastructure.

Since November 23, 2020, the Russian specialists have cleared a total of 1,623 hectares of territories, 508 km of road, 1,577 buildings from unexploded ordnance, finding and neutralizing 25,154 explosives.

"The ceasefire is being observed along the entire contact line," the statement reads.

Russian peacekeepers at 27 observation posts carry out round-the-clock of the ceasefire in Karabakh.
