Karabakh: Search for war victims not resuming due to bad weather

PanARMENIAN.Net - Search for the victims of the Nagorno-Karabakh war temporarily suspended due to heavy snow did not resume on Monday, March 15 because of bad weather and poor visibility, Karabakh authorities report.

Rescue teams were supposed to work in the regions of Martuni, Varanda and Jrakan on Monday. They will continue the mission on Tuesday, weather permitting, the Karabakh State Emergency Service added.

Since November 13, the rescue teams have found the bodies and remains of 1499 people, including dozens of civilians, who had failed to leave their homes when their settlements went under Azerbaijan's control. Family members and parents of missing soldiers were participating in the process too.

Baku had indefinitely suspended the mission in the last two weeks of February in territories under its control, offering no particular explanation for the decision.
