Azerbaijanis open fire on Karabakh capital, villages

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Azerbaijani military has opened fire on Karabakh's capital city of Stepanakert, as well as the villages of Mkhitarashen and Shosh in Artsakh (Karabakh), Hetq.am reports.

The roof of a residential house in Stepanakert has been damaged in the incident that took place on April 20. At the time of shooting, a man and young children were inside the house. Before the war, the family lived in Shushi, which came under Azerbaijan's control during hostilities.

According to the owner of the house, Karine Munchyan, the police and Russian peacekeepers visited the house and found the bullet. An investigation is underway.

The Head of the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs, Hunan Tadevosyan, noted that a bullet fired from a small-caliber weapon pierced the roof of the residential building. Authorities are now working to establish whether a small-caliber weapon can be used to target a residential home in Stepanakert from Shushi.

The villages of Mkhitarashen and Shosh, meanwhile, have been under fire for 15-20 minutes.

The Karabakh police were not immediately available for comment.
