Armenia: Over 19,000 Covid vaccine doses administered within a month

PanARMENIAN.Net - 19,249 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in Armenia since the beginning of the vaccination program in mid-April, health authorities said on Monday, May 17.

Armenia is currently using AstraZeneca vaccine to inoculate people aged above 55, while folks under that age are getting Sputnik-V shots. The vaccination program rolled out across the country in mid-April, with health authorities also setting up mobile vaccination facilities near shopping malls and on major streets in Yerevan, the capital.

Foreigners currently residing in Armenia too can receive the jabs free of charge.

The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Armenia grew by 67 to reach 220,927 on May 17. So far, 208,899 people have recovered, 4333 have died from the coronavirus in the country, while 1060 others carrying the virus have died from other causes.
