Georgia, Lithuania congratulate Pashinyan on victory

PanARMENIAN.Net - Georgian and Lithuanian Prime Ministers Irakli Garibashvili and Ingrida Šimonytė on Monday, June 21 congratulated Armenia's caretaker Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the victory of his Civil Contract party in the snap elections to the parliament.

"I wish all success ahead. I look forward to working closely with new Aarmenian] Government," Garibashvili tweeted.

"Congratulations to Nikol Pashinyan on the decisive victory in the early parliamentary elections! Best of success in your continued work building a strong and prosperous Armenia!" Šimonytė said in a tweet of her own.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis too weighed in, sending "sincere congratulations" to the Armenian people regarding the results of elections to National Assembly.

"Clear victory of democracy and pro-European reform agenda. Looking forward to further cooperation with the renewed government Nikol Pashinyan," the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry cited Landsbergis as saying.

Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party won 53.92% of the vote, while Hayastan (Armenia) bloc headed by second President Robert Kocharyan secured 21.4% of the ballots. "I Have Honor" bloc too will get seats in the parliament.
