Commander of Armenia's 3rd Army Corps sackedJuly 8, 2021 - 16:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The commander of the 3rd Army Corps, Major General Grigori Khachaturov has been dismissed, according to a decree signed by President Armen Sarkissian. Khachaturov is the son of Yuri Khachaturov, a former Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and former Chief of the Army General Staff of Armenia. Grigori Khachaturov was among the army officers who penned a letter in late February to demand the resignation of acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. However, he was the only one to publicly reiterate his demand. Head of Armed Forces Air Defence Armen Vardanyan and Head of the Department of Engineering Troops Ishkhan Matosyan were fired earlier.
