Fighting in the 81 kg weight category, Karapetyan secured five victories to take the third spot, according to information provided by the International Judo Federation. Also representing Armenia in the championships were Davit Aghasyan, Artak Torosyan and Andreas Harutyunyan, none of whom, however, won medals.
